Functional Fitness for Life
The number one reason people go to the gym is to look better and train for an aesthetic physique. This training focuses on looks and not so much on function. Others might focus more on improving performance. Perhaps they are looking to do more sport specific training to excel at their sport, or they may simply want to become more functional in everyday life, even though they may not be actively engaging in sports. If that is you, then you are in the right place.
So what exactly is functional training? And, how can you benefit? Functional Fitness for Life is not only a program that will increase your strength, conditioning, and fitness, you will also develop a physique to be proud to show off. Your body will be a byproduct of your ability.
When you follow this functional training program, every single exercise you do will have a purpose. It will have transfer over benefits to your everyday life, whether you are carrying groceries, helping a friend move a sofa, or go on a spontaneous hike out in nature. Your everyday life will become easier and more enjoyable.
The human body is designed to either work hard/fast or long/steady. Training for shorter times but at a higher intensity has been proven as a very effective method and coincide with human physiology. Further benefits of functional training will help you improve balance and posture, reduces the risk of injury and thus helps with reducing joint pain. In short, this program will help you build strength, power, and mobility that go beyond the gym. You can call it “real world” fitness and you will still have an amazing body that’s always “beach ready”. Due to the nature in which functional training is done it will also be excellent for providing fat burning and muscle building benefits.
What makes this program different? Unlike most bodybuilding and traditional gym workouts that focus on one body part per workout, we train the body as a unit. The structure for this program is set out in 3 different, progressive levels and can be done by men and women of any age and fitness level. You will not have to spend hours in the gym and since we focus on full body exercises, many of the exercises will only take 15 – 20 minutes a day and some 30 – 45 minutes. We increase the training intensity and decrease the training time.
